Carlos has been a Research Scientist in the ITS Lab since early 2016. Prior to that, he was a Senior Postdoctoral Associate at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) where he directly interacted with the group at MIT. Carlos received his PhD in Transportation Systems through the MIT-Portugal Program in 2014. He has initiated and managed multiple large-scale research projects in the group that focus on the integrated simulation of travel behavior and system performance in order to design and evaluate smart mobility solutions.
